Soroptimist Makes Donation to Nanticoke Health Services Foundation
"The mission of the Soroptimist International of Seaford, DE Inc. is to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and around the world. As Presenting Sponsor, the members are proud to support an initiative that brings awareness to women’s heart health and supporting our community hospital for the expansion of the Cardiac Catheterization lab. We are excited to be a partner with Nanticoke and making a difference in the lives of our community,” said Soroptimist of Seaford President Michelle Daisey.
Dr. Joseph Kim, Primary Care Physician with the Nanticoke Physician Network, is partnering with Nanticoke Health Services and The Heart Truth® to raise awareness about heart disease. "Organizing a women’s heart health awareness campaign is personal to me. My mother, my family, and my patients are my motivation. They deserve nothing less than access to excellent health care,” said Dr. Kim. "We are honored to have Soroptimist International of Seaford DE, Inc. as the Presenting Sponsor.”
"From The Heart. For The Heart.” is an event to raise funds for Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for the expansion of its cardiac services, specifically a second cardiac catheterization unit, while at the same time increasing awareness of heart disease seriously affecting the women of our area. Nanticoke Health Services, with its mission to positively impact our communities' quality of life through superior health service, includes Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, a community hospital that includes a comprehensive Cancer Care Center, an expanded Emergency Department with Level III trauma status, and an award-winning Stroke Program with advanced accreditation. Nanticoke recently received the 2012 Critical Care Excellence Award from HealthGrades, an independent review agency. HealthGrades ranked Nanticoke among America’s Best 100 Hospitals and among the top 5% in the nation for Critical Care.
The Heart Truth® is a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease. Sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), a part of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), this program is designed to give women an urgent, personal wakeup call about heart disease.
