Early in the 1960’s, Soroptimist International of Seaford, Inc. recognized a need in the community for financial assistance for students who planned post secondary education. In 1964, the organization awarded its first scholarship to a nursing student. In 1965, a Soroptimist International of Seaford, Inc. Scholarship Fund was established to support the desire to provide ongoing scholarships to Sussex County students. Since 1973, Soroptimist International of Seaford, Inc. has awarded scholarships annually to selected high school seniors.
Continuing this tradition, Soroptimist International of Seaford, Inc. will award scholarships to deserving high school seniors in May.
